Cats are groomed in a separate cat room, away from the noise of the dog salon, by stylists who understand how differently a cat needs to be handled.
How we groom cats
Cats are not small dogs, and grooming one properly takes a different room, a different routine and a different kind of patience.
A separate cat room
Cats are groomed in our dedicated cat grooming room, away from the noise and movement of the dog salon. Less stress in means a better groom out.
Mornings only
We groom cats in the morning session only. Drop off at 8:00am and collect as soon as your cat is finished, rather than leaving them waiting in the salon.
We never sedate
No cat is sedated for grooming here. We do have cat muzzles for the feisty ones, and if a cat is genuinely too aggressive to groom safely we will refer you to your vet rather than push on.

Why does my cat need grooming?
Cats mat. It does not matter whether the cat has long hair or short hair, or is purebred or domestic. Every coat will mat over time. Regular combing helps, but the best defence is a thorough degreasing bath and blow-dry, and that is where a professional cat groomer comes in.
Cats are naturally oily
Their skin produces oil that spreads through the coat if given enough time. Some cats are greasier than others, and some become greasier as they age or if they develop certain health issues.
How a mat actually forms
Cats shed regardless of coat length. Short haired cats usually shed more than long haired breeds. As hair sheds, the greasiness of the coat makes it gummy enough that loose hair sticks to the hair still attached, and a small tangle forms.
These tangles are barely noticeable at first. Over time, more hair sheds under and around the tangle, sticking rather than falling away, and the tangle becomes a mat. Several mats can form at once in different places on the body.
Left untreated, those mats join into one solid pelt. The pelt tightens toward the skin, and if enough time passes, sores can develop underneath it.
Cats do not groom themselves. They lick themselves. Licking does nothing to remove mats, kill fleas, clear dandruff, deodorise, trim sharp nails or clean up messes. If we licked ourselves all over, we would not be clean. We would be covered in saliva.
